Speedy Repo has 15 years of experience serving North Carolina’s 10.7 million residents and understanding the unique challenges of servicing the land of North Carolina, from the Outer banks to the Great Smoky Mountains. Our statewide services in repossession operate in three geographically distinct regions: the coastal plain and hurricane-prone waterways, the rolling hills of the Piedmont that house the state’s banking industries, and the Appalachian mountains where rural repossessions require specialized equipment and area knowledge.

We are versed in North Carolina’s complicated economy. We have provided repossession services ranging from lending operations in Charlotte’s banking district to tech companies located in the high-tech Research Triangle Park, to military families at Fort Bragg and Camp Lejeune, and agriculture in the eastern counties. We have the knowledge that recovering a combine harvester in Duplin County will require a different skillset than recovering a luxury vehicle in Myers Park, or getting someone freed from their boat after a hurricane evacuation in the Cape Fear River.

One of our hardest recoveries involved a commercial fishing vessel that was moved up the intracoastal waterway from Wilmington during Hurricane Florence evacuations. Knowledge of the coastal evacuation routes and collaborating with local marinas, we were able to locate and recover the 42-foot vessel three months after the initial repossession order, saving the lender a significant loss. This history is rooted in having a full understanding of North Carolina’s weather, evacuation orders and North Carolina’s strong maritime commerce and culture. State Statistics:

Proven North Carolina Expertise

Hurricane and Severe Weather Operations: We have fully developed coast-wide pre-storm asset tracking and post-hurricane tows in the coastal plains and barrier islands of North Carolina. In Hurricane Dorian, we secured 200+ vehicles ahead of the storm to protect the customer’s property and to assist with the insurance claim process. Within 72 hours of roads reopening, we completed our recovery operations, even with the additional logistical challenges of limited vehicle access across the Outer Banks using our in-house modified 4WD equipment.

Military Installations Coordination: For major military installations including Fort Bragg, Camp Lejeune and Seymour Johnson AFB we have developed specialized client protocols for military personnel deployments. These protocols include legal holds for military personnel assigned overseas, and anticipated delays in recovery timing as a result of the military members movement and meeting operational security guidance.

Through our expertise in understanding North Carolina regulatory procedures for “claim and delivery”, we have maintained an overall recovery rate of 94% on the first attempt, significantly above the region average recovery rate. We have a strong understanding of protecting our state’s agricultural equipment during the seasonal mixes for military personnel protections.

North Carolina-Focused Recovery Services

Standard Vehicle Recovery: specialized pickup trucks and SUVs, which comprise the vast majority of vehicle types in North Carolina’s rural areas, as well as a lower number of luxury vehicles that we typically see represented in the Charlotte banking district and in Raleigh’s government sector. Recreational Vehicle Repossessions: We expertly handle the travel trailers and Class A motorhomes that are common in North Carolina, largely associated with the retiree’s in the state and the visitors to the Blue Ridge Mountains. We also provide specialized access to the mountain campgrounds and coastal RV parks.

Commercial Equipment Recoveries: We are currently focused on recovering agricultural equipment (i.e. tobacco harvesters, sweet potato machinery), construction equipment (serving the states growing urban centers), and textile machinery (from the manufacturing era that represents the Piedmont region).

Boat & Watercraft Recoveries: We cover all possible marine recoveries in the state of North Carolina. Including the abundant, coastal shoreline, and the many lakes and rivers ranging from the Cape Fear River system through to the mountain lakes, covering any specialized moves during hurricane season, to the ability to access the Outer Banks.

Heavy Equipment Repossessions: We recover heavy equipment in the state’s agricultural sector (farming equipment in the eastern counties), the construction industry (for supporting the growth of Charlotte and Raleigh), as well as equipment for military contractors that support our major military installations in the state.

Specialized Asset Recovery: This includes NASCAR team equipment (Charlotte Motor Speedway region), university research equipment (Research Triangle), and components for renewable energy infrastructure that support the state’s growth in the wind and solar energy sectors.

Statewide Coverage Strategy to Repossessions

Our North Carolina operations has been carefully developed to provide asset recovery and repossession services within this demanding state’s geography, which includes barrier islands and mountain recoveries. Item recovery for areas of the state that require specialized permits and equipment to access barrier island communities, and mountain recoveries that require 4-wheel drive vehicles and knowledge of seasonal road closures.

Our North Carolina operations utilize primary response teams, located in Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, Greensboro, Wilmington, and Asheville, with the mobile units providing coverage for the expansive rural areas between urban centers.

For weather contingency planning, and to stay on schedule during North Carolina’s Hurricane Season (June-November), we have pre-positioned our assets along the coast for quick response post-storm, and have our contingencies in place ready to deploy upon any concerns of hurricanes. We have teams well suited for mountain operations, which experience ice storms in the winter and seasonal accessibility issues (closed roads) for significant portions of the year. All our coast area teams maintain the appropriate tools and equipment to deliver asset repossession activity on sand and saltwater.

North Carolina Legal Compliance Knowledge

As the longest tenured and largest repossession specialist in North Carolina with over 15 years of experience, no other supplier truly understands North Carolina’s repossession procedures, even including the requirement to provide a 20 day written notice before repossession in North Carolina (unless voluntary surrender or expressly waived in contract). We do strictly adhere to North Carolina self help repossession laws while avoiding any breach of peace with the additional considerations of the protections afforded by federal SCRA as well as the additional protections for service members provided by North Carolina.

Recording documentation is specific to each county. Our team is up to date on the differences in requirements across all 100 counties here in North Carolina. We do have much experience with the unique 10 day combo post repossession notice that NC requires, as well as the accounting intricacies involved in surplus/ deficiency calculations.

Our professional licensing and bonding for over $100,000 complies with North Carolina’s Private Protective Services Board requirements (visit NC licensing for repossession). We maintain full insurance coverage that meets both state minimums and client requirements, which has special provisions for marine recoveries, and mountain terrain repossessions.

North Carolina’s claim and delivery legal process is unique to the state which makes timing, and documentation considered, especially challenging. Our team has mastered those challenges in our thousands of successful asset recoveries. Also, we have a 98.7% legal compliance rate which shows how well we understand North Carolina’s changing laws, regulations, and court decisions.

We Deliver Results: 96% repossession recovery rate on many regions of North Carolina, with an average response time of 2.8 hours across the state, 1.8 hours in metropolitan areas. Our operations in North Carolina over the past 15 years, with over 25,000 repossessions (successful recoveries), have provided us with strong credibility with most large lenders and dealers brokers across the Tar Heel State.

Regional Response Commitments: Charlotte/Piedmont region – 90 minutes, Research Triangle – 2 hours, Coastal – 3 hours, Mountains – 4 hours (with good weather), 24/7/365 and emergency services response for weather conditions.
