Ohio Repossession Service

Trusted Coverage Throughout the State of Ohio

Speedy Repo has appropriately served Ohio’s vast geographic diversity (11.8 million people and 44,826 square miles in the center of America) for over 15 years. Our repo presence is identified from Ohio’s southernmost point at the banks of the Ohio River to Lake Erie. Regional repo offices span Cleveland’s industrial corridors to Cincinnati’s financial sector, along with Columbus’s technology market, and all of Ohio’s agricultural towns in Ohio’s more rural settings.

We have experienced, first hand, the unique challenges presented in the Buckeye State with relation to the repo process, many of which we have experienced previously when managing repossessions. Last winter, our equipment recovery team managed recover a large fleet of construction equipment from a contractor in Toledo, which they managed during another lake-effect snow storm in which 30 inches of snow fell in only 48 hours!

Ohio serves as a transportation centerpiece hub in the United States with major highways like I-70, I-71, I-75, and the Ohio Turnpike combining to add value to Ohio’s geographic importance to a regional (logistical) hub. Therefore, while this offers opportunities for recovering commercial vehicles, it can also equate to challenges with coordinating regional logistics with multi-state transportation providers. Our unique history with farm or agrarian economies in Ohio is long and varied: corn and soybeans, hogs, chickens, produce and all the wines, and all types of operations from livestock husbandry and dairy farms; we can recover anything from combines to trailers for livestock. Our industrial history in Ohio includes automotive manufacturing and centralized steel production, which has aided our specialization in recovering industrial equipment better than our competition. We have three benefits we will illustrate with real Buckeye State experience related to our Ohio operations. First, Lake Erie Weather Knowledge: We have recovery equipment for the awful lake effect weather that is occasionally experienced in the northern part of the State. When other recovery can shut down due to the infamous Cleveland snow squalls, our heated recovery bays and all weather ability kept us working. Secondly, we developed the protocols including indication for vehicles stuck in snow or ice-covered lots. This is something the Great Lakes community has to contend with annually.

Secondly, Manufacturing District Awareness: the embedded industrial environment of Ohio is still unique. we have successfully recover assets over the years from the active Ford plants at Avon Lake; GE operations at Cincinnati; and Honda operations in East Liberty. This experience is much more than just recording the address. The companies have shift changes, security protocols to adhere too, and Russell methods to recover assets with minimal disruption.

Third, Rural-Urban Geographic Knowledge: Each area in Ohio is so different to experience. Recovering heavy equipment from a 5,000-acre soybean farming operation in Mercer County is a very different experience than recovering vehicles from downtown Columbus parking garages. We have experienced everything from recovering vehicles that got stuck in muddy farm fields in rural Ohio, to recovering vehicles from one-way, up hill Cincinnati streets during rush hour traffic.

With an operating company in Ohio, our compliance score is 0 peace breaches in the +3,000 total recoveries which is proof of our awareness of the responsibilities of the state’s regulations, and the expectations of the local community in so many different places around Ohio. Services Customized To The Ohio Economy

Standard Vehicle Recovery: We understand the mix of vehicles in Ohio from the construction worker with a pickup truck and sedans and SUVs from suburbs of Columbus, and to the significant presence of trucks owned by the typical car owner in rural counties.

Recreational Vehicle Recoveries: Michigan’s Lake Erie camping culture, and the growth of camping in Ohio state parks cultivated a very strong RV ownership culture and all types of RVs have been recovered – from bass boats that were headed to Deleware lake near the Ohio River, to the travel trailer that is used to go camping in Hocking Hills. Commercial Equipment Recovery: We specialize in Ohio’s industrial base, recovering CNC machines from the area’s tool shops in Akron and automotive assembly lines from plants in Toledo, and we recover commercial printing equipment from Cincinnati’s publishing and industrial printers.

Agricultural Recovery: Everybody knows that Ohio is home to an estimated $7.8 billion agriculture industry, and the recovery of tractors, combines, and livestock equipment are specialized products, and an industry we understand, including seasonal timing, recent harvesting schedules, and now precision ag technology.

Heavy Equipment Recovery: We recover and manage heavy equipment for construction and the building of Ohio’s infrastructure projects, and we track and recover material handling equipment that is currently being used and managed in the port operations in Cleveland, which help recover assets owned by large organizations and other services that must keep on-site or do not have a safe transportation process.

Energy & Industrial Recovery: Ohio has seen an increase in renewable energy, and we also understand that as industries grow traditional manufacturing needs create unique recovery needs, including wind turbine components and steel fabrication equipment.

Our state-wide geographic coverage strategy allows us to assist in addressing Ohio’s unique geography and demographic reality. Rural access is a similar aspect of the agricultural region of Ohio, to get from a muddy, washed out farm lane, to winter access, we have created specific procedures to serve as an example of how to meet the lifestyle choices of the Amish communities in Wayne and Holmes Counties with respect for lifestyle choices in however compliance can be maintained to meet accessibility goal. We have a rural footprint in all of the 88 Ohio counties including in the remote valleys of southeast Ohio (Appalachian foothills).

Seasonally, it is important to recognize that northern Ohio experiences snow from the lake-effect system and in southern Ohio those winters are milder. Where we strategically deploy fleets and in Ohio, we also deploy other resources to Cleveland, Toledo, and Ashtabula, during the month of seasonal snow while having immediate, year-round resources when needed scattered across the state of Ohio, to assist as needed. Border Coordination: As we operate on the borders with Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky and Indiana, it is common to coordinate recoveries that span states including those commercial fleets set up in Ohio that work the area.

Ohio Law Excellence

Our Ohio knowledge is based on having good’ operational experience with the specific requirements of the Buckeye State. Self-Help Repossession Procedures: Ohio allows self-help repossession under UCC Article 9. Unlike some other states, Ohio does not require the debtor to issue a notice of repossession, in most cases, but we document every effort to recover an asset and every repossession.

County Recording Variance: There are 88 counties in Ohio and while each have their own recording requirements and publically documented- redemption notice procedures. The variance between the recording requirement in urban counties, like Cuyahoga (Cleveland) or Hamilton (Cincinnati) which can require a longer wait, to the limited hours of the clerk in rural counties, was an example of the difference in documentation we learned.

Ten-Day Redemption Rights: Ohio law, allows debtors, to have redemption rights of ten days for the time of repossession, to redeem their vehicles. We ensured the proper compliance with the regulatory process to provide the notice of redemption requirements to the respective county where that notice would be formally delivered in memorizing the requirements of the redemption facility where all that had custody over those same redemption facilities, as the State required for storage. We are licensed and bonded; however, all of our facilities in Ohio have met the bond and licensing compliance requirements for the pulling of commercial storage in Ohio.

Professional Licensing Requirement Compliance: All our activities adhere to any required Ohio Private Investigator licenses and in addition we carry commercial bonding required that exceeds the minimum bonding requirements of the Ohio, and have provided our staff/crew training for the Ohio legal operating procedures, debtor rights, the avoidance of Breach of Peace, and the proper documentation operating procedures that protect both clients and consumers.
