Speedy Repo has been providing professional vehicle recovery services to the Ypsilanti community and greater Washtenaw County for more than twenty years, working with the 20,000 residents surrounding this great college town. Our local knowledge runs the length of busy Eastern Michigan University down to the scenic shoreline of Ford Lake, and varies by locale in each neighborhood from historic Depot Town to the newly growing suburban communities that surround this great city.
Ypsilanti’s distinction as the premier college town in Michigan complicates our vehicle recovery operations. Our team knows the seasonal influx of students and outflux of residents due to the tight gridlock of the yards near EMU’s campus, and also the special access needed for properties adjoining the Huron River corridor. With I-94 and US-23 intersecting at our city literally across the street, we are able to respond very quickly to your needs, whether you’re at home downtown Ypsilanti in the 4.3 square miles of Ypsilanti proper or across the entire Washtenaw County region.

Our knowledge extends beyond the geographical aspects of Ypsilanti’s boundaries. We are also aware of Ypsilanti’s automotive history from the famous Willow Run Bomber Plant where over 8,500 B-24 Liberators were built during the Second World War, to the current mixture of university employees, healthcare professionals, and automotive workers. This diversity in the economy implies different ways to approach vehicle recovery to also align with the unique requests of those vehicle owners whether we are working in the historic bungalows of College Heights or working with the new subdivisions at Ford Lake.

Eastern Michigan University Campus Expertise
Our team of highly trained professionals have established standard operating procedures to accommodate the specific needs associated with university circumstances. With over 13,000 students residing in Ypsilanti during the academic year, we’ve tailored our rescue recoveries to specific parking issues at the campus, limited visibility due to seasonal snow, and the need to remain professional in an learning environment. This includes standard operating procedures specific to access routes around Rynearson Stadium, the residential areas surrounding the McKenny Student Union, and the commuter lot.
Huron River and Ford Lake Corridor Recovery Expertise
Ypsilanti’s location along the Huron River and Ford Lake provides a unique geography that our team has catered to over decades of operational service. We have developed specialized equipment and procedures designed for recovering vehicles in the Ford Lake Heights and Ford Lake Village area knowing seasonal access variations, flooding conditions, and access routes need to be planned for properties bordered by water. We also understand the Ford Lake Loop Trail system as well as the parks along the waterway to avoid low-impact recoveries in these recreational area zones.
Historic District Recovery Knowledge
We recognize that Depot Town is one of the largest historic districts in Michigan. This requires strategic vehicle recovery operations that are not only systematic but respectful to the potential damage to the commercial district. Our team is highly trained on the narrow street challenges, proximity of important historic buildings, as well as sensitivity related to the historic commercial district that residents consider an asset to the community. We coordinate closely with local business owners and uphold professionalism that helps Ypsilanti keep its image as a destination for antique shopping and cultural tourism.
Interstate Corridor Rapid Response
Ypsilanti is located strategically at the junction of I-94 and US-23 allowing us to rapidly respond throughout Southeast Michigan. We utilize these major transportation fixtures to cover a geographic footprint that stretches from Detroit Metropolitan Airport to Ann Arbor, from suburban northern Wayne County to the rural villages of southern Washtenaw County. This gives us the ability to respond quickly relative to our local knowledge.
